Villa Maria Pia is a nineteenth century building with an interesting history. Founded in 1864 as a penal colony for prisoners not dangerous which was entrusted with the cultivation of the fields of the surrounding area, was converted in 1934 to farm, and it was at that time devoted by the Prince of Piedmont Umberto II to his eldest daughter Maria Pia.

Following a thorough restoration (2003-2006), has been transformed into an elegant and refined accommodation. Located just minutes from the city center of Alghero, just 250 meters from the beautiful beach of Maria Pia, is also located at the entrance of the city, 10 minutes from the airport and a few meters from the town area reserved to the sport (Tennis Club, Municipal Pool, baseball field, athletics track, stadium of the Catalan rugby). Its location allows you easy access to the entire area north-west of the island, to discover its beautiful coasts, the culture, the fascinating traditions and the delicious local cuisine.

Villa Maria Pia has 15 spacious and comfortable rooms, as well as a large park, divided into ten gardens, including in turn bungalows and practical outdoor showers. The city of Alghero is reachable from Villa Maria Pia walk or bike along a pleasant walk along the promenade, or by public transport.
